What is it?

Radiesse is a hydroxyapatite crystal that is injected into the skin usually using a cannula for delivery. It is mixed with sterile saline to deliver the product. It can be used in a hyper-dilute formula to address skin textural change.

What can Radiesse be used for?

How does it work?

Radiesse causes the skin to form type 3, then type 1 collagen. Type 1 collagen is stronger and more mature and helps our skin to look younger. It results in better skin quality: thicker skin therefore a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, smaller pores, smoother texture, brighter more radiant complexion. It also causes contraction in the skin, giving a tighter appearance.

Is Radiesse a type of biostimulator?

‍Yes. A biostimulator is defined as an injectable that stimulates the body to use its natural processes to repair and regenerate. As we age, we lose collagen and elastin from the skin which reduces the skin’s elasticity and causes aging. Radiesse stimulates the body to produce new collagen and elastin. This improves skin quality and texture.

When will I see results?

Results develop over time, as the body needs time to respond to the stimulus. You will see a difference in skin quality at 6-9 months. Depending on the patient, you will need 2-3 sessions, 3-4 months between treatment. Results keep improving for up to 1-2 years.
